FAQ

How do I unlock Dark Aphrodite?
Defeat regular Aphrodite first. Then use the Hermes route while holding at least 10 Hatchmon when Hermes is defeated.
Is having 10 Hatchmon enough by itself?
You also need Dark Aphrodite unlocked through the regular Aphrodite victory and an available Hermes route.
When does the companion requirement matter?
Have at least 10 Hatchmon when you defeat Hermes. Check the squad before entering that fight rather than relying on an earlier count.
Can I replace the required squad with 10 eggs?
The condition specifies Hatchmon. Eggs are hatching resources, so develop the companion squad rather than treating an egg count as the route requirement.
Does this Dark route continue to Theia?
The Dark Aphrodite branch ends at Dark Aphrodite. The regular Aphrodite branch can continue to Theia once that encounter is unlocked.
Do I need to play Elise?
No particular Agent is specified by the route condition. Elise offers recovery support, but choose a character whose kit you can use safely while developing the squad.

How do you unlock and reach Dark Aphrodite?

Defeat regular Aphrodite to unlock the Dark encounter, then take an available Hermes route with at least ten Hatchmon present when Hermes is defeated. Treat the unlock and the run condition as separate tasks. Preparing a large squad before the regular victory does not replace the prerequisite, and the victory alone does not supply the companions.

The official Wonder Flow announcement specifies the regular Aphrodite victory and the at least 10 Hatchmon condition for defeating Hermes.

Gate Requirement What to check
Encounter unlock Defeat regular Aphrodite Confirm the prerequisite victory
Route access Hermes available at the safehouse Choose the intended portal
Companion condition At least 10 Hatchmon when Hermes is defeated Inspect the squad before the fight

This page covers access and preparation. Use the general boss guide for the movement and equipment decisions that help you complete the preceding encounters.

What is the order of the route decisions?

Complete the regular Aphrodite prerequisite before planning a dedicated Dark route attempt. During that later run, develop the companion squad through the dungeon, choose Hermes at the safehouse, and verify the count before entering. The decisive requirement belongs to the Hermes victory, so the plan should preserve both the squad goal and your ability to finish that fight.

  1. Defeat regular Aphrodite to open the Dark encounter.
  2. Begin an attempt with a character you can use comfortably.
  3. Build the companion squad while exploring the dungeon.
  4. At the safehouse after Floor 5, select Hermes if available.
  5. Recheck the Hatchmon count and combat supplies before the Hermes fight.
  6. Defeat Hermes while meeting the companion requirement.
  7. Continue into the Dark Aphrodite branch.

The current route map places the safehouse between the dungeon and the chosen later route. An earlier boss unlock does not force every run to offer the same encounters.

How can you develop the required Hatchmon squad?

Collect reachable eggs and use available hatching effects that fit the actions and resources of your run. Keep the companion count visible in your plan rather than judging progress from egg inventory alone. Choose useful hatching tools when they appear, then preserve enough crystals or other resources to keep those tools affordable alongside combat preparation.

Tool or direction Contribution to the plan Cost or condition to remember
Lightbulb Hatches an egg immediately Requires an egg and 2 crystals
Replica Circlet Adds progress from crystal-consuming Curio use Its trigger has a 3-second cooldown
Godfather Disc Enemy kills can add hatching progress Maintain a weapon that clears rooms reliably
Agapeism Egg and hatch actions support its Faith meter Choose it when available and useful for your plan

The Hatchmon guide covers hatching effects and fusion recipes, while the Faith guide explains the Agapeism Temple direction.

Why should you check the count after changing the squad?

Inspect the companion count again after a fusion, pickup, or other lineup change instead of relying on a number remembered from an earlier floor. A fusion can improve recovery or movement, but the route still asks for the required squad at the Hermes victory. Decide whether the change helps that attempt before committing to the fight.

Checkpoint What to verify
After developing the squad You are tracking companions rather than only eggs
After a lineup change The current count still supports the route goal
Before selecting Hermes You have a workable plan to meet the condition
Before the Hermes encounter The squad and your combat supplies are ready
Should you prioritise companion count or fusion utility?

For this route, the minimum companion condition remains a requirement. Recovery and movement are useful only alongside a squad that still meets the plan.

Inspect the result after a change. Keep a helpful fusion when it improves the attempt and leaves the condition achievable; avoid assuming every companion combination preserves the earlier count.

Which Agent and weapon can support the attempt?

Choose a kit you can operate comfortably while developing and recovering the squad. Elise provides Kiddy for awakening support, and Noxmare lets companion hits contribute to poison marks if you find it. Neither choice is required by the route. A familiar weapon and affordable Curio can be more useful than forcing a setup around drops that never appeared.

Option Why it may help Keep in mind
Elise Kiddy supports dazed companions Preserve the Agent’s own health and position
Chirpie Adds combat awakening support Check the squad after its fusion
Noxmare Companion hits add poison marks Read the actual weapon affix and keep attacking
A familiar weapon Reliable damage while you move The route does not demand a particular weapon

Use the Elise guide for her recovery rhythm and the Noxmare build if that weapon fits the drops available to you.

What should you do if the ideal weapon does not appear?

Continue with an attack you can use safely. The route condition is the unlock and the Hatchmon requirement, not possession of Noxmare or any other named weapon.

Choose upgrades that solve the actual problem in your attempt, such as awkward reach, unaffordable support activation, or insufficient protection.

What should you check before Hermes falls?

Prepare the squad and combat budget before entering, then prioritise completing the encounter while keeping the route requirement in view. Check health, weapon reach, movement, and the resources for support activations. A large squad can contribute damage, but incoming attacks still require your attention; crossing danger to force one more interaction can lose the attempt entirely.

Final preparation Decision
Prerequisite Regular Aphrodite has been defeated
Squad At least 10 Hatchmon available for the Hermes victory condition
Health or shields Collect reachable protection before entering
Weapon Know the attack range and how to fire while moving
Curio Keep enough resources for the effect you intend to activate
Recovery Know whether you will use safe manual awakening or companion support

After a failed attempt, identify the missing gate or the survival problem before changing the whole build. The current route map distinguishes the branches: Dark Aphrodite ends the Dark route, while regular Aphrodite can lead to Theia once unlocked.
